‘Absolute consciousness is manifest here in every circumstance of daily life because it is everywhere full and perfect. Consciousness is said to be the cause of all things because it is everywhere emergent as each manifest entity.”

The Poetry of Space Holding
What does it truly mean to hold space?
Beyond sequencing a class or delivering practices, space holding is the art of cultivating environments where people feel safe enough to explore, connect, and transform. It is a practice of presence, attunement, and relationship meeting others with authenticity rather than expectation.
This module explores the depth of space holding beyond functional teaching, integrating embodied wisdom with the philosophical richness of yoga. At the heart of this approach is the understanding that transformation cannot be forced. We cannot lead someone into a depth they are not ready for; we can only meet them where they are, with compassion, curiosity, and respect.
Alongside the spiritual foundations of teaching, this module is grounded in contemporary research on inclusion, trauma-informed practice, and relational neuroscience. We explore how diversity, equity, belonging, and accessibility are essential aspects of ethical space holding, creating environments in which every individual feels welcomed, valued, and supported.
A central focus of this module is the relational field the dynamic space that exists between teacher and student. Through developing greater awareness of this relationship, we learn how to facilitate experiences that invite curiosity, trust, and authentic connection, allowing practice to become deeply meaningful without imposing outcomes.
